I’m not sure when my love of all things food, wine, entertaining and most importantly eating really began. A defining “food affair” moment if you want to call it that, doesn’t really exist for me. My attraction to the kitchen is more of an ebb and flow of interest, but always pushing me in the culinary direction.
When I moved to Davis to pursue a degree in viticulture & enology, it became easier to feed my food and wine monkey. Here, in one of the epicenters of agricultural abundance, the concept of eating fresh, local and organic became an effortless way of life. I must admit, I am by no means a certified locavore; I enjoy too many imported goods to claim that title. However, our proximity to fresh food from local farmers is hard to pass up when it comes to creating culinary goodness in the kitchen.
In Davis, we are blessed with the ability to eat local and fresh all year long. We can thank our weather and natural resources, along with the commitment and creativity of local businesses for this privilege. Living here encouraged me to cook more and begin writing about food in a capacity to inspire others. I have been lucky enough to make many friends in town who share my passion of all things cooking and eating. For
