| On a Saturday night, downtown Davis definitely has a fine set of diverse dining options when you want to eat out with the family or friends. The only problem is claiming a reasonable parking spot in the middle of a car jungle. People tend to forget the underdog areas of Davis, bustling with quality restaurants and ample parking. And this is exactly why Linda decided to open up a new restaurant, the Red Orchid, in the Davis Manor Center (on 8th Street, between Poleline Road and L Street), otherwise known as the "Orange Shopping Center." She explains, "It’s hard to find parking in a small town. With the good parking, food and reputation, I hope that people will come here, too." Linda is also the owner of Davis Noodle City, as well as London Fish n’ Chips. Originally from Taiwan, Linda came to the United States in 1978, and learned from her husband the trade of restaurant ownership. After establishing Chef Lew in Sacramento, Linda and her husband later placed their mark in Davis by becoming the owners of Davis Noodle City, and have been living in Davis for the past six years. |
