Uncle Vito's inspires customers to dance (and sometimes to drink beer upside down). | |
G Street Pub
Classification: Bar with a cash-only, walk-up window for typical bar food fare, plus some interesting Louisiana favorites and barbeque (who knew?)
Hours: Food until midnight; bar open until 2 a.m.
Cover: None
Bouncers: Yes; don't bring big bags, however, the bouncer will want to keep them at the door.
Music: Live music on Thursday; DJ on Saturday; Play Rock Band on Sunday (does that count?)
Drink Special: The bartender said, "Everything is special." So I ordered a vodka/cranberry, which was nice and stiff. A round of drinks for two was $10.50 without tax and tip.
Customers: Mixed crowd of undergraduates, graduates, locals and a few rough-looking characters.
Despite the ban, all those smokers clinging just outside the south side door, on what I suppose I would call a porch, made the inside of G Street Pub a mysteriously smoky place. Not being terribly adverse |
