Brooks Painting, owned and operated by Jeremy Brooks, has an annual tradition of giving back to the community by providing $10,000 worth of painting to a deserving group or organization. In 2007, the Davis Little League complex received a makeover, thanks to Brooks Painting, and this year the Sharp Family of Vacaville were nominated and the interior and exterior of their home was painted and other repairs undertaken. Brooks Painting organizes the painting by working with suppliers to donate the supplies, and the employees donate their time so the work gets done, and they do it to ensure the city of Davis recognizes how grateful they are for their business.
Jeremy Brooks came to Davis in 1991 as a student at UC Davis. He studied Human Development and started painting in 1993 to fill the time and pay the bills. After graduation, Jeremy realized he didn't really have a clear idea of what he wanted to do. So he kept painting. In July of 1997 he started his own business, Brooks Painting. Jeremy says: "I started by myself and with a few guys," but now, eleven years later, Brooks Painting has more than 27 employees and a solid reputation for quality, reliability and customer service.
Brooks Painting takes care to treat their employees as the valued members of the team that they are. |
