Your chance has arrived to pick up rare vinyl records, CD’s and music-related collectibles at The Armadillo Music & KDVS Record Extravaganza just in time for Halloween. What ghoul or goblin could pass up a chance to look for a vinyl copy of “The Monster Mash” or Michael Jackson’s “Thriller?”
The Record Extravaganza will take place at the Natsoulas Gallery, 521 First Street in Davis on Sunday, October 30 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is no admission, but it is strongly recommended that you bring your own bags, or boxes, to haul out all of the unique items you find.
It’s only appropriate that the new sculpture in front of the gallery, Finley Fryer’s “Stan the Submerging Man” is made from fragments of reclaimed plastic toys and colored vinyl demonstration records. The vinyl inside the gallery may not be as attractive as the vinyl in the 18-foot-tall statue, but it will play much more easily on your turntable.
At last count, there was only one table open for a vendor, so this will be a full show and unlike some other recent vinyl events, no rain is in the forecast. For more information, contact Armadillo at (530) 758-8058 or just stop by the store at 205 F Street.
