Clips of Faith Beer Tour TONIGHT!

New Belgium Brewing’s “Clips of Faith” Beer and Film Tour Returns to Davis on July 22

It’s New Belgium’s style of show business:  An outdoor evening with artistic beers and films, all to benefit Davis Bicycles! and Davis Bicycle Collective

New Belgium Brewing, maker of Fat Tire Amber Ale, is bringing its Clips of Faith beer and film tour back to Davis, California on Friday, July 22. This is the second year for Clips of Faith, a festival that will travel to 18 cities this summer and fall, showcasing independent films by New Belgium’s filmmaking friends. The outdoor event will highlight some of New Belgium’s most esoteric beer offerings while providing a great way to unwind under the stars.

The selected films include comedic shorts, adventure documentaries and music animation. The top three films are about lizard wrangling in the dead of the Wisconsin winter, a talking beer bottle sketch comedy and a miniature day on a tremendous mountain.

“Clips of Faith is all about showcasing creativity. Our Lips of Faith beers are some of our most unique creations and it’s fun to share that with our friends (or soon-to-be friends) around the country,” said Christie Catania, Clips of Faith Manager-at-Large.  “It’s a great way to enjoy the warmer seasons – under the stars, drinking New Belgium beer (some new, some old favorites) and watching a great collection of short films.”

In addition to a screening of the films, there will be seven Lips of Faith beers and seven popular classics available for tasting and food from local vendors.

All proceeds from each stop will go to a local non-profit organization.  In Davis, the beneficiaries are Davis Bicycles! (www.davisbicycles.org) and Davis Bicycle Collective (www.davisbikecollective.org).  Wastebusters (www.wastebusters.info) will handle the recycling. Last year, the Davis festival had approximately 1,200 attendees and generated nearly $4,500 for Davis Bicycles! and The Davis Bike Collective.  In total, Clips of Faith raised more than $31,000 in 2010.

This year, the top three filmmakers will receive a trip to New Belgium to screen their films, as well as a contour HD helmet camera.  Three runners-up will receive a Flip HD camera. The creative team at New Belgium reviewed and selected the films, which will tour the country through October.
