Even though it’s August and school will be starting at the end of the month, there’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy in Davis! Davis Life Magazine helps you stay connected to what’s happening in our region.
Our over 20 writers are out enjoying life, sharing the best of what they find with you. Whether it’s where the burrowing owls have gone, the best winery to enjoy in Napa, how to enjoy your foodie weekend or how to keep your kids busy, Davis Life Magazine is what to read.
We also collect information from the public about art shows and upcoming events. If you have an event (before or after) that you’d like to share with us, send the text with at least one wide, horizontal photo to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be happy to share it with our readers.
If you haven’t done so already, be sure to read the other Davis publication that DLM produces each month, www.yolocountybuyersguide.com. We’re using the monthly DLM format that we once used, and are producing the magazine for Coldwell Banker Doug Arnold Real Estate, Inc. It has monthly stories on Davis, real estate, a featured home as well as homes for sale, open houses, an agent directory, preferred vendors and more.
On a personal note, I would like to put out some congratulations and birthday wishes to my three sons. My oldest son, Mark Ling, is the new Editor-in-Chief of The California Aggie. Yes, journalism must be genetic. They start printing a newspaper again this week after enjoying a short summer break. Mark is studying managerial economics at UC Davis and is getting married in early September to his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Manzano. I couldn’t be happier!
My middle son, Spencer Ling, just graduated Davis Senior High and is turning 18 in August. He’s starting Sacramento City College this month and will be studying Railroad Operations at McClellan Air Force Base. My third son Logan is turning 7 this month, and is busy planning a SpongeBob birthday party where our swimming pool will be transformed into Bikini Bottom. Happy birthday boys!
