Have you heard about happy hour at Fuzio Universal Bistro in Davis? If you have, then you’ve been taking advantage of this great deal. If not, you’d better hurry on over. Where else can you get such nice plates of food for only $3.00?
Every Monday through Friday 3-7 p.m. (the best happy hour times in town), you can get a draft beer or any one of these great appetizers for only $3.00: firecracker pork slyders, crab cakes, Vietnamese spring rolls, firecracker lettuce wraps, crispy calamari, onion strings and thyme French fries. It’s a great deal, and we have had many dinners there for only $12-$15. Yes, we each get a beer and an appetizer and sometimes share a third appetizer. Heck, go wild and order two beers each and the extra appetizer and your bill is only $21.
We sit in the bar at one of the high, bistro-style tables overlooking the restaurant. The restaurant is always bustling in the evenings and the patio has a nice, metro feel as well. The sliders are HUGE and make a meal by themselves and come two to a plate. If you like the firecracker pork fusilli pasta, then you’ll love the slyders (yes, that’s how Fuzio spells their sliders) as it’s the same sweet meat piled generously in the soft buns, with a pile of onion strings to boot.
We’ve tried going elsewhere for happy hour and have enjoyed the $5.00 beer and a slice at Vito’s as well, but for a sit-down, full-service meal with different choices, Fuzio is wonderful. We even tried to visit Ket-Mo-Ree’s happy hour and arrived to find that it had ended at 5:30. It was 5:35. They wouldn’t honor the happy hour despite the fact that the restaurant was completely empty, so we continued down the street and enjoyed Fuzio’s until 7:00. So yes, the secret is out. For a financially guilt-free meal out, head to Fuzio for happy hour. I’ll see you there…
