Village Homes Performers Circle will meet Monday, May 24, 2010 from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Davis. This free event featuring performers of all levels and creative expressions is held the 4th Monday of each month. Sign-up performances are from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Featured acts perform from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The featured act for May 24 is Eve West Bessier. Eve will weave her unique blend of jazz vocals, poetry, personal monologue, languages and improvisation into a tapestry of soundscapes, social commentary and subtle humor. Eve is a member of the local band Hardwater and the Latin Jazz Ensemble Mejor Que Nada. She also performs with her jazz trio, West of the Moon. She’s lived and performed in Davis for more than two decades at venues including Performer’s Circle, E Street Plaza, the Vets Memorial, the Whole Earth Festival, and other local haunts. Eve’s one-woman-show, “Solo Para Tí” is a musical magic act; don’t be surprised if she pulls a few guest musicians out of her hat. And she does wear a lot of hats!
