My goal with this blog is to write about all types of restaurants all over Sacramento. Broadway is a stretch in Sacramento that is peppered with all types of businesses. Target, banks, gas stations, Walgreens, Starbucks, Jamba, Broadway Bait and Tackle and then a bunch of different restaurants. Thai, Mexican, Vietnamese, Sushi, Pancakes, and Fast Food, you name it, Broadway has got it.
Now Broadway itself isn’t the prettiest of streets, but don’t let that deter you from some of the great cuisine that lines its sidewalks!
Kris and I chose to try Taste of Thai on a whim as we drove by it. The place was packed so that was definitely a good sign. It was raining and the thought of warm spicy food and rice sounded just right!
We ordered Toa Hoo Tod for an appetizer which was fried tofu and came with a spicy chili dipping sauce. I also asked for a side of the peanut sauce as I love fried tofu with peanut sauce! It came with plenty bites of tofu and amplesauce for dipping and was so tasty!
For dinner, I ordered Gaeng Dang which was red curry with eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers and sweet basil leaves . Kris ordered Shrimp Curry on the Beach which was green curry with green beans, bell peppers and young coconut meat served in a coconut shell. We both ordered brown rice in our attempt to make the meal as healthy as possible. I ordered my meal vegetarian, so there were extra veggies in there along with some tofu. I have always been a fan of curry and this one was quite delicious! I especially liked the bamboo and eggplant in my meal. I have to say though, Kris’s meal came with green curry which I had never had before. It was so good! Next time I go for Thai, I am ordering green curry.
Taste of Thai has two locations in Sacramento. One on Broadway and one in Natomas, and a new location in Davis. For more information visit www.tasteofthaisac.net
